She passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, on Thursday, March 22, 1962. Bertha Kohls came to America at the age of 14 years and lived in the Elgin vicinity. On September 6, 1905 she was united in marriage to Louis Cornish at West Union, Iowa. On September 6, 1905 she was united in marriage to Louis Cornish at West Union, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William; and a daughter, Hazel, who died in 1918.Surviving are her husband Louis Cornish of Clermont; a daughter, Mrs. Guy Muchow of Clermont; a son, Aulden Cornish, of Postville; and one grandson, Dennis Muchow of Clermont. Mrs. Cornish was a member of the Baptist Church in Elgin. Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville, Saturday, March 24, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Clermont Cemetery Postville, Iowa newspaper of the time clipping, from Dorothy Schave's obituary collection.
