She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Avoca and graduated from the Avoca High School. She taught school in the Avoca area for ten years before her marriage to Herman Boettger in 1939. They farmed southwest of Marian until Herman's death in 1961. She moved to Harlan in 1965 and Feb. 6, 1968 she married Fredrick M. Jacobsen at Harlan. She had been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Zenobia Rebekah Lodge No. 286, Lincoln Social Club and the Friday Club. She has resided in the Salem Nursing Home in Elk Horn for the past one and one half years and died Oct. 8, 1990, at the Myrtue Memorial Hospital at age 80 years, 7 months and 10 days. Besides her first husband, Herman, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Herbert Rock, Leo Rock, Carl Rock and Oscar Rock and four sisters, Alma Pattee, Ina Burmeister, Lola Carroll and Ella Sieh. Survivors include her husband, Fred of Peace Haven in Walnut; two sons, David Boettger of Harlan and Robert Boettger of Scottsdale, AZ.; a daughter, Bertha, Mrs William Welty of Orinda, CA.; a brother, Arnold Rock of Avoca; two sisters, Hilda Krummel of Avoca and Edna McKinney of I lancock; by three step-sons, Jack Jacobsen of Sac City; Robert Jacobserr of Hancock, and Doug Jacobsen of Shelby; a step-daughter, Elizabeth. Biuhns of Oak Park, IL.; 8 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren; 7 stepgreat granddaughters, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Oct. 11, 1990, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan with Rev. Otto Zwanziger and Rev. LeVern Nielsen, officiating. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery with Jeff Welty, Chris Welty, Tim Boettger, Sarah Boettger, Allan Boettger and Andrew Boettger serving as casketbearers.
