Accident Claims Two Countians Two Carroll County women en route to a wedding in Georgia were killed instantly Sunday morning when their car was involved in a head-on collision four miles south of Madison, Va. Serenda Catherine Redding, 40, of Millers, and her niece, Miss Bertha Egore Jane Reed, 24, of 181 N. Main St., Manchester, were the two victims. Kerchner Redding and the late Aaron Redding. She was employed as a seamstress at the Manchester sewing factory for 22 years. The deceased was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Hempstead. Surviving in addition to her son and mother are the following brothers and Bisters: George, Roy, Charles, Sterling, Mrs. Russell Reed and Mrs. Eva Gebhart. Miss Reed, a daughter of Russell O. and Anna M. Redding Reed, 181 N. Main St., Manchester, was employed as a secretary at the University Hospital, Baltimore. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester, and Hanover (Pa.) Chapter 923, Women of the Moose. Surviving in addition to her parents are six brothers and sisters George E., with the U. S. Army in Iceland, and Helen Marie, Patricia Ann, Joseph C, Faye E. and Larry R.; paternal grandfather, David O. Reed, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Redding. Double funeral services were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester, yesterday with the pastor, the Rev. Richard S. Shanebrook, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
