Bertha Elswick, daughter of James and Mary Elswick, was born at Iconium, Iowa, August 5th, 1870, and departed this life November 17th, 1929, at Albia, Iowa, being 53 years, 3 months and 12 days old.. She was ever true to her faith in the Lord.. Bertha was a quiet and appreciative soul and had a wide aquaintance.To know her was to love her. She was an intense sufferer for many months but bore it all with great patience and gave willing co-operation until the last when she quietly passed on to be with her God.. She leaves to mourn, her aged father and family; four aunts, Mrs. Susan White, Mrs. C.T. Stocker of Albia; Mrs. Alice Baldwin of Potwin, Kansas; and Mrs. Martha Jane Fips of Spring Dale, Arkansas; five uncles, J.W. Elswick of Albia, Iowa; Oliver Elswick of Moravia; Fred Haller of Natoma, Kansas; Martin Haller of Springfield, Missouri; and Chas. Haller of Albia; besides cousins and other relatives and friends.. Funeral services were conducted from the home of C.T. Stocker residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was made by the side of her mother in Haynes Cemetery.
