Mott were held from the Methodist Episcopal Church last Thursday afternoon at two o'clock and was attended by a very large number of friends and neighbors who had come to pay their last tribute of respect to one they admired and loved. Bertha E. McCornack was born at Elgin, Illinois on November 16, 1875, and moved with her parents to Minnesota when but three months old where she resided until 1900 when she was united in marriage to Jesse H. Mott. In 1902, with her husband they moved to North Dakota on a farm south of Kenmare where she resided until her death. She was united with the Methodist Church at Monticello, Minnesota; when she was 16 years of age and was still a member there. She was the mother of ten children, and was devoted and loving and kind to her family and was a good neighbor and friend. The heartbroken husband and children have the sincere sympathy of their great many friends in this their great bereavement. John Mogren notes that the family was in North Dakota in 1902 but it was actually 1903; they returned to Minnesota in 1905 and they lived there until 1909 when they returned to North Dakota. Mrs. Andrew McCornack her mother, and two sisters Mrs. (Alice) Hagman of Milaca and Mrs. George (Grace) Rice; who have been with their loved one for the past weeks, expect to return home soon after the funeral services. She had a resilient nature and it was only her nearest friends who knew her sweetness, wonderful patience and depth of character. During her three months in the hospital she became endeared to the nurses who found her friends an unusual patience and hopefulness. Laid to rest in a treeless prairie cemetery.
