Description	:	Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Herman Buus, a near lifelong resident of this locality, passed away at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Friday, Mar. 13, 1981. She attained the age of 89 years, 11 months and 27 days. Mrs. Buus, nee Bertha Hippen, was born at Platte, SD. on Mar. 16, 1891, the daughter of Harm and Marie (Jurgens) Hippen. When she was a small child her parents moved onto a farm near Davis, and there she attended rural school and grew to womanhood. Read More	Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Herman Buus, a near lifelong resident of this locality, passed away at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Friday, Mar. 13, 1981. She attained the age of 89 years, 11 months and 27 days. Mrs. Buus, nee Bertha Hippen, was born at Platte, SD. on Mar. 16, 1891, the daughter of Harm and Marie (Jurgens) Hippen. When she was a small child her parents moved onto a farm near Davis, and there she attended rural school and grew to womanhood. On Mar. 5, 1913 she was united in marriage to Herman Buus at Turner County First Presbyterian church. They located on a farm five miles south of town and there they lived for 56 years, their entire married life. Her husband preceded her in death on Jul. 21, 1969. A short time later she took up her residence in Lennox and here continued to make her home. She had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center since May of 1979. Mrs. Buus was an active and faithful member of Turner County First Presbyterian church for over a half century. Deceased is survived by her son, Harm Buus of Sioux Falls; her daughter, Mrs. Delmar H. (Marian) Buskohl of Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. William (Dora) Hanson, Mrs. Ella Hill and Mrs. John (Maggie) Tietjen, all of Wilmot, Mrs. Stanley (Nancy) Anderson of New Orleans, LA. and Mrs. Grace Kuper of Lennox
