Malson --------- 2nd husband is Alvin B Cutshall (Married Jan. 29, 1942 in Terril, IA) --------- Mrs. Bertha Cutshall Bertha, daughter of James Henry and Elmira Miller Hopkins, was born on Feb. 17, 1882 at Monroe, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles Calvin Quick on Jan. 29, 1917, at Hutchinson, Kansas. To this union were born four children. Two daughters, Rosella from Ely, Iowa, Trudy from Westminister, Colorado, and two sons, John of Portland, Oregon and Daniel of Terril. Mr. Quick preceded her in death in 1926. On January 29, 1942 she was joined in Wedlock with Alvin Cutshall of Terril. Thur becoming the step-mother of Mr. Cutshall's children. Mable, Ralph, Lorin and Lee. Mr. Cutshall passed away in 1955. Mrs. Cutshall was a member of the Terril Methodist Church and active in the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Terril, and she was very proud of the fact that three of her children had served their country in the military service. Her hobbies were writing, painting and reading. She had three brothers, Harry, Herbert and John Hopkins; and two sisters, Alice Selfridge and Carrie Scarlett, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children; her step children; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. About three weeks ago she was taken critically ill and passed away at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital on Friady, May 27, 1960, at the age of 78 years, 3 monthe and 10 days. Funeral services were held at the Terril Methodist Church with the Pastor, Herman U. Smith, officiating on Wednesday, June 1. The Leyson Funeral Home in Milford was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Fred Eckley sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Elaine Smith served as accompainst at the organ. Floral attendants were Mrs. Beryl Coleman and Mrs. Roy Lewis. Casket bearers were Minor Blum, Roy Lewis, Clyde Spencer, Art Jensen, Howard Bendixen and Harold Casperson. Ushers were Gaylord Olson and Wheatley Pickering. The Facilities of the Legion Hall were used for dinner at noon, served by the Ann Dodge Circle of the W.S.C.S. and the lunch after the service, by the Legion Auxiliary. Roy Lewis, Art Jensen, Emmett Bridson, Leon Olson, Ralph Kinsman and Nick Probst were drivers of the cars to the cemetery.
