Description	:	Bertha J. Gaccione, 89, of North Stonington, Conn., died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn. She was born February 17, 1916 in Surry County, N.C., and was a daughter of the late George P. and Mary Elizabeth White Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Preston Wyatt Spencer; her second husband, Louis P. Gaccione; three sisters, Ida Puckett, Nellie Pike and Drucilla Hull; and four brothers, Charlie Mitchell, Raleigh Mitchell, George Mitchell and Clinton Mitchell. Gaccione, 89, of North Stonington, Conn., died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn. She was born February 17, 1916 in Surry County, N.C., and was a daughter of the late George P. and Mary Elizabeth White Mitchell. Gaccione; three sisters, Ida Puckett, Nellie Pike and Drucilla Hull; and four brothers, Charlie Mitchell, Raleigh Mitchell, George Mitchell and Clinton Mitchell. She was a nurse in Chicago, Ill., for several years. Surviving are one son, Mitchell W. Spencer of North Stonington; one sister, Annie Hollis of Upper Marlboro, Md.; one brother, Walter Mitchell of Claudville; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Mount Airy with Ministers Sam McCracken and Bobby Sylvia officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell family cemetery in Claudville.
