Bertha Klein was born March 19, 1922, the daughter of Andrew and Walburg (Weist) Klein, in Karlsruhe, ND. She was educated in Villard Township in McHenry County and was baptized and confirmed at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. On October 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Feist in Karlsruhe. In April of 1942, Tony was drafted into the United States Army. Bertha helped on the family farm until the time of Tony’s honorable discharge in 1944. Tony and Bertha farmed east of Simcoe, north of Velva in Hendrickson Township for 35 years. Here they made their home and raised their six children. They were members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. They retired and moved to Minot in 1984. Tony passed away May 6, 2003. Bertha was most recently a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers Society and the Ladies Auxiliary 9316. Bertha enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, playing cards with the neighbors and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home
