Born on April 7, 1935, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late William and LizzieMae Hardy and the wife to the late William B. Childs Sr. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her son: William B. Childs Jr (Melanie); grandchildren: Lindsay King, Kameron Wiesen, Ashton King, Tyler Banks Childs, Hunter Arik Childs and Tessa Morgan Childs Richey (Ryan); as well as a great-grandchild: Bella Wiesen. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son: Joe D. King Jr; daughters: Judy Lynn Coffee and Candie Melinda Childs; 6 sisters and 1 brother. Bertha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A funeral service will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 2pm officiated by Pastor David Neal. A private burial will follow. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the South Chapel on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 1pm to 2pm. The family will be at their respective homes.
