Description	:	Bertha M. Outhouse was born to Alma and Mary Jane Outhouse on October 16, 1892 on a ranch near Enterprise, NE, and died at Commerce City, CO July 23, 1975 at the age of 82. She spent all of her life in Keya Paha county except the past few years which were spent with her daughters in Kansas and Colorado. She was married to John Shepperd at Bassett, NE on June 27, 1910 and moved to a homestead southwest of Burton. They later farmed near Mills and Springview. To them five children were born. Mr. Shepperd died in 1950. In 1961 she was married to Lawrence Williams who died in 1968. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas, in 1949 and a granddaughter, Barbara Grandt, in 1969. Among survivors are a son Dale Shepperd, Springview; three daughters, Mrs. William (Alice) Chapin, Commerce City, Co; Mrs Marvin (Twyla) Allen, Queneme, Kansas, Mrs. Ranson (Wilma) Hamaker, Commerce City, CO; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
