Description	:	Bertha May Luther 57-year-old resident of Alton, died Tuesday evening in a Scotia hospital following a month's illness. Mrs. Luther was born Jan. 19, 1898 at Bridgeville and lived her entire life in Humboldt County. Besides her husband Lloyd she is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Crider, Rio Dell; Mrs. Ora Aldridge, Korbel; Mrs. Lulu Bevins, Eureka; and Mrs. Lillian Colligan, Eureka; a brother, Chris Steenfoot of Petaluma; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her mother's and brother's headstones and California death index records have the last name spelled Steenfott. Mother's Maiden Name: Mullen Father's Surname: Steenfoot Bertha was the daughter of Mary E. Mullen and Rudolph Henry Steenfott; sister of Lillie D., Rowena, Christopher, Lulu B., and Ora Steenfott. Lulu's father was born in April 15, 1861 in Germany. It appears that Lulu's parents divorced sometime after 1900 and prior to 1910 and, at some point, he began using the name Henry Steen. He remarried in 1954 to Lillian McLean and died July 4, 1965, at the age 104 in Eureka, CA. His obituary lists his surviving children as Lillie Colligan, Rowena Crider, Lulu Bevins, Ora Aldridge and Chris Steen.
