She was a member of Springfield Presbyterian Church. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Mr. MacDonald, of Liverpool, N.S., (U.C. of C.) assisted by Lic. Donald Chase, of Springfield on the afternoon of Monday, May 21st, for the late Bertha Meisner Morrison, 94, who died May 18th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Wilson, Liverpool, after a long period of failing health. Mrs. Morrison, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meisner, of Meisner's Bridge, was survived by two sons; Murray, of New Albany; and Norman, of Aylesford; and three daughters. Effie (Mrs. Otto Wilson), with whom she had resided for several years in Milton; --Meda(Mrs. Elmer Creamer), and Florence(Mrs. Asaph Joudrey), both residing in Worcester, Massachusetts. A daughter, Verna, died many years ago. There were also several grandchildren and one half-brother, Daniel Morrison of Caribou, Me. Mrs. Morrison will be remembered as a genial hostess and neighbor, an affecionate mother, a women who had many friends. At her funeral services the choir sang Beulah Land and The Old Rugged Cross. Miss Naugler sang very beautifully "Somewhere The Sun Is Shining." Pallbearers were: Obed Acker, Stanley Charlton, Russell Conrad and Francis Mason. The flowers were lovely. Friends from many points attended the service, as a tribute of esteem and sympathy for the well-known family. Predeceasing Mrs. Morrison were her four brothers, Geoffery, Stephen, Samuel and William Meisner; also four sisters, Mrs. Joshua Tipert; (Sophia), Mrs John Grimm, (Sarah); Mrs. Teale (Cassandra); and Mrs. Nathan Veinotte. Jacob Meisner and his family came from Lunenburg many years ago and settled on the shore of the beautiful LaHave River, just south of Springfield, where they made their homes. At the time of her death, time had changed many things and only Stanley, (son of William) and Otto, (son of Stephen) were left at the little settlement still known as "Meisners' Bridge." Burial was in the family plot in Springfield Cemetery.
