Description	:	Friends and relatives in and near Windfall were shocked Tuesday morning to receive word of the death of a former resident Miss Bertha Richcreek, which occurred Monday morning at 10:01 o'clock in St. John's hospital at Hammond. Miss Richcreek, who was employed as a relief worker in Calumet City, Ill., entered the hospital, about ten days ago for treatment for gall duct trouble and other complications, but her case was a stubborn one and she became rapidly worse. The Edwards, ambulance of Windfall left Tuesday morning for Hammond to remove the body to Windfall, following short services held in a funeral home there Monday afternoon. The body was taken first to the Edwards funeral home and then removed to the home of a sister, Mrs. Carl Trimble, near Windfall, to lie in state until the hour of the services The last rites will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Windfall, with Rev. W. E. Hamilton of Forest, a former pastor, officiating Burial will be in Brookside cemetery. Miss Richcreek was born Aug. 30, 1885, in Rensselaer, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Richcreek. While she was yet a small girl, the family moved to Windfall. About 15 years ago she went to the northern part of the state. At the time of her death she was residing in Calumet City with her mother and a niece, Jeannette Dennis of Elwood. The latter is a teacher in the Hammond schools. Surviving besides the mother and niece are three sisters, Mrs. Trimble, of Windfall; Mrs. George Dennis, of Elwood; and Mrs. Cora Sheahan, of Long Island, N.Y.; also several brothers survive; George, of Lafayette; Seth of Kentland; Edward, Decatur, Michigan; Frank, of Ohio; Bernard, NY.; Allen, of Tenn.; Lowell, Point Isabel; and Russell of Muncie.
