Description	:	Daughter of Askel and Elen Jorine (Sivertson) Askelson/Axelson of Grodem, Rogaland, Norway. Records show her name as Berte originally. Birth and baptism records show date of birth as July 2, 1865 and baptism on July 30, 1865. Date on stone is incorrect. First wife of Robert Reyerson. They had 5 children together. The youngest child died in either 1897 or 1898 and Bertha died not long after in 1898. Family history says that her child was also "buried in Berea" with Bertha. From what I've been able to find so far, this child was possibly a male child named Rekard with a possible birth date of May 1897. I believe this child is in the unmarked (but outlined) grave to the north of Bertha in this cemetery. (See photo) Other children of Bertha and Robert: Sena Aleck Sarah (Charles Gilbertson) #132636937 Ella A year or so after Bertha died, Robert went back to Norway to bring back his new bride, Christine Gabrielsen (Svenson), daughter of Gabriel and Sabrina Svenson. (Her brother, Sven Svenson, is buried in Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City) Some census incorrectly name Christine/Christina as the mother of Robert's first four living children.
