Church in Harrisonburg. Mr. and Mrs. Long both gave their hearts to Christ in a revival meeting here by G. K. Little four years ago. She, a Christian woman, suffered long, and mummered not . Read More	Wife of Forest D. Long, and daughter of Jacob and Fannie Spitzer, died at the home of her parents on the afternoon of November 20th. She was a member of the U. B. Church in Harrisonburg. Mr. and Mrs. Long both gave their hearts to Christ in a revival meeting here by G. K. Little four years ago. She, a Christian woman, suffered long, and mummered not . She is mourned by a husband, one little daughter, her parents, two sisters and a brother. Bertie was naturally of a good and genial disposition, an obedient child and kind to all those about her. In her dying hour, as her family stood by her bed-side, she, feeling the canopy of death lowering itself about her, said, "He's come." Her mother said, "Bertie, who's come?" She answered, "why the Lord has come, hold my hands mother, weep not after me, you will all meet me in Heaven.". At this trying time Mr. John Stern came in. She asked him t o pray that she might be relieved of her suffering. He, kneeling by her bedside, made a beautiful and impressive prayer. In a short time her spirit had made its way to Heaven for its eternal rest. Hers was a life worthy of example, so let us try to live as she lived, that when the death angel comes to us, we can meet It fearlessly and nobly and say, as Bertie said, "hold my hands for the Lord has come." The funeral services were held from the U. B. Church in-this place, on the beautiful Sabbath morning of Dec 1, conducted by Rev. A. S. Hammack, assisted by Rev. G. K. Little. As the casket was carried down the aisle, lowly and sweetly, the song "Beautiful Beckoning Hands," w as rendered by the choir. After the impressive service, the remains were laid to rest in Woodbine Cemetery. Harrisonburg Evening News Thursday January 2, 1902
