Read More	An accident occurred on the Bebee bridge early Sunday morning which took the life of Miss Beryl Overton, 22, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Overton of Beebe. Miss Overton who was employed in Seattle and lived at 5030-15 N.E. had driven over to visit her parents. On Saturday she drove to Wenatchee and it was while on the way back the accident happened on the Beebe bridge. Early Sunday morning the paper carrier noticed that 35 feet of the railing had been broken and notified the caretaker who immediately got in touch with Deputy Sheriff Mario Faletto, who went to the scene and discovered the body about 10:30. The bridge was extremely frosty and the car had gone 386 feet on the bridge before it went out of control. It hit the railing, bounced back on the raised planking on the middle of the bridge, hit the railing again and then went on 28 feet further before it crashed through the railing and over a 14 inch water pipe along side the bridge and over the side. The car dropped 41 ½ feet and landed on its top caving in the steel top pinning Miss Overton under the wheel. The wristwatch she wore had stopped at 12:15, which indicated the accident had occurred about that time. The caretaker had left at 11:30 and the gates had been left open for the night. Funeral services for Miss Beryl Overton, 22, were held from the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock with the Rev. L. V. Galsscock officiating. Mrs. Joe Foster and Mrs. Cleo ??lgin sang, with Mrs. Lester Morse at the piano. Interment was in the Fraternal cemetery with the Smith Funeral home in charge of arrangements. She was born in Loomis, Washington, May 26, 1922. When a small child she moved with her parents to Bellingham and in 1929 the family came to Chelan. She was graduated from the Chelan high school with the class of 1941 and attended the University of Washington. For the past three years she has been in Seattle where she was employed. She is survived by one son, Jackie, three years old, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ora E. Overton and one sister, Mrs. Raina Genther of Spokane.
