Description	:	Bessie B. Robirds, 84, a long time resident of Cheyenne County, died at Memorial Health Center, Sidney, on Saturday July 30. The funeral will be at 3 pm Tuesday at the Peetz Community Methodist Church in Peetz CO, with Rev. Raymond Scott officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney. The family has designated either Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Peetz Community Church for memorials. Bessie Bernice Robirds was born September 23, 1909 at Pilger NE., the daughter of Charles and Mary Jane "Jennie" Berg Hawkins. When she was a small child, the family moved to Cheyenne County. She was reared in the Peetz area, graduated from Peetz High School in 1927. On Oct. 17, 1929, she married Joseph E. Robirds at the United Brethren Church in Peetz. She lived and farmed in Cheyenne County most of her life. Her husband died on March 21, 1985. She was a mamber of the Peetz Community Methodist Church. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She is survived by two sons: Doug Robirds of Sidney and Edward Robirds of Delta CO; a daughter, Norma Jean McRae of Peetz; one brother, W. Lee Hawkins of Peetz CO, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and four sisters. Gehrig and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
