Description	:	Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Massena Christian Church for Mrs. Bessie Elizabeth Maas, 89. Rev. Dennis LeFleur officiated at the service. Mrs. Glen Spieker was organist and accompanied Mrs. Oscar Ryan and Mrs. Geral Wollenhaupt with their vocal selections. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Arp and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chapman were in charge of the floral offerings. Casket bearers were Roy Kearney, Glen Spieker, John Yarger, Harry Stapleton, Kenneth Jensen, and Howard Hastings. Burial was in the Massena township cemetery. Mrs. Maas, daughter of Jameson and Marilla Flynn Lee, was born in Victoria township on January 2, 1883 and passed away Sunday, June 11, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. She was united in marriage to Fred Harris in 1900, who preceded her in death. She was later married to Lewis Richard Maas in Atlantic in 1919, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Massena Christian Church. She is survived by four sons, Lee and Irvin Harris of Massena, Glen Harris of Omaha, and John Harris of Magnolia, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Burnett of San Bernadino, California; three step-daughters, Mrs. Leona Regello of Redeo, California, Mrs. Pearl Fletcher of Massena, and Mrs. Verna Smith of Bridgewater; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Roy and a step-son, Harold.
