Daughter of George Granville Anderson and Martha Ellen Quinn OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, November 12, 1990 BESSIE FERN BAKER Bessie Fern Baker, the daughter of George and Martha Quinn Anderson, was born May 15, 1899 in Lucas County and passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 1990 at the Corydon Care Center at the age of 91 years, five months and 14 days. On February 8, 1922 she was united in marriage to Virgil V. Baker. To this union were born five children. They farmed in the Lucas and Norwood areas all their married life, moving to Chariton in October of 1982. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1985, and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her five children: Kenneth Baker of Lucas; Hollis Baker of Chariton; George Baker of Lucas; Rita Dixson of Reeds Spring, Missouri; and Verna Blakey of Russell; along with 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 1, 1990 at 1 a.m. at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton. The service was conducted by Rev. Gary Taylor with music by Donnell Snider, Clara White, Donald Dixson and Alan Dixson, with Colene Reynolds playing the organ. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Interment was in the Norwood Cemetery.
