Description	:	CENTRAL CITY — Bessie Katherine Rubaha, 94, of Central City died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Litzenberg Long Term Care. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home (downtown location), with the Rev. Richard Whiteing officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Read More	CENTRAL CITY — Bessie Katherine Rubaha, 94, of Central City died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Litzenberg Long Term Care. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home (downtown location), with the Rev. Richard Whiteing officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Bessie was born Oct. 26, 1921, in St. Paul to Michael and Ann (Tuma) Vincik. Bessie grew up in St. Paul on the farm and graduated from St. Paul High School. Following her graduation, she went to Business School in Grand Island. After completing her schooling in Grand Island, Bessie moved to Washington, D.C., where she began working for the Federal Government. While in Washington, D.C., she met Frank William Rubaha, and they were married at Perth Amboy, N.Y., on May 24, 1941. Frank then enlisted in the military to serve his country during World War II. While he was deployed overseas, Bessie moved to New Jersey. While in New Jersey, Bessie gave birth to one son, Robert Rubaha. When Frank was discharged from the military, they moved back to Nebraska for a few years, eventually returning to New Jersey, where she began working for General Cigar. Bessie remained working there for several years, until she began working as the County Controller until her retirement in 1980. Frank and Bessie then moved to Central City in April of 1980. Bessie remained on the farm with her son, Robert, until her health would no longer allow, and she moved to Long Term Care just a couple of weeks ago. Bessie loved to be on the farm. She especially enjoyed feeding the wild turkeys, canning and helping Bob feed their cows for over 30 years. She was one classy lady, but was an even better mother. Bessie was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City, St. Michael’s Altar Society, and St. Paul’s American Legion Auxiliary Post 109. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Rubaha of Central City, and one cousin, John Vincik of St. Paul. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rubaha, and her parents, Michael and Ann Vincik.
