Sizemore, 90, of Cherokee, died at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Cornerstone Village Care Center in Pittsburg. She was born Sept. 22, 1913, at West Mineral, to Charlie and Jennie (Bates) Parsons. She attended school in West Mineral, graduating from West Mineral High School with the class of 1931. She went on to graduate from Kansas State Teachers College, now Pittsburg State University. She taught school in West Mineral, McCune, Pittsburg and Cherokee. In 1948, she married Frank Sizemore in Arkansas. He preceded her death in 1978. They lived in Springdale, Ark., and while there helped develop Beaver Lake. They later moved to Girard and then to Cherokee. Mrs. Sizemore was a member of the Trinity Holiness Church in Monmouth. Survivors include her sisters, Thelma Barnes of Pittsburg, and Betty Hays of Prairie Village, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Berniece Smith and Mamie Justice and brothers, Frank and Jack Parsons. Inurnment will be at a later date in Cherokee City Cemetery in Cherokee.
