Description	:	Bessie was second from the oldest of the seventeen children that was born to Edward Hiram Sanders and Minnie Lacindie (Johnstone) Sanders. For the most part Bessie grew up in western Wisconsin very near the Mississippi River most of the time. The family moved around quite a bit. At the young age of 16 Bessie married much older George Davies on August 9, 1924 in Caledonia, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with four children. David Lavern born June 6, 1927 in Aurora, Illinois and died May 26, 2001 in Puyallup, Washington. CleOtis Lee born March 7, 1931 in Renton, Washington and died September 23, 2005 in Tacoma, Washington. Orville M. born November 16, 1945 in Tacoma, Washington and died November 27, 1945 in Tacoma, Washington. After moving around quite a bit the family settle in Tacoma, Washington for a time and worked at Fort Lewis during the war years before moving to Central Point, Oregon. At Central Point George and Bessie owned and operate a gas station and garage. After her husband’s death in 1948 Bessie returned to Spanaway, Washington to live out her life. In Spanaway, Bessie took her mother, Minnie in and took care of her for a number of years before Minnie went to a rest home. Many years later Bessie suffered from a stroke at her Spanaway home and was transported to a Seattle hospital where she passed away a few days later. Biography by Ed Hennings from family sources.
