Corson, 63, Morning Sentinel correspondent in the Madison-Anson area more than 12 years, died Sunday afternoon in a Waterville hospital after a month's illness. She was the widow of Robert H. Corson. Born in Smithfield Sept. 10, 1896, she was the daughter of Fred and Lizzie Gage Stevens. She attended Smithfield schools and was graduated from Coburn Classical Institute in Waterville. She was a school teacher in Smithfield and Norridgewock several years. On June 25, 1917, she was married to Robert H. Corson of Saugus, Mass. She had resided in Freeman, Me., Saugus, Mass., and Norridgewock before moving to Madison 16 years ago. Mrs. Corson was a member of the Congregational Church, vice president of Forget-Me-Not Branch, I.S.S., a past matron of Minerva Chapter, O.E.S., member of the Sorosis Club, the Norridgewock Rebekah lodge and of Fairview Grange in Smithfield. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth C. French of Smithfield; two sons, Reginald (Adopted) of Brewer and Robert M. Corson Cousin's Island; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest M. Stevens of Smithfield and Lindsey Stevens of Harwich, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. Eula Witham of Smithfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Edwards Funeral Home, 165 Main Street, from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2pm, Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Haldane of Portland officiating. Burial will be in the Smithfield Village cemetery.
