Description	:	The Chronicle Kennewick Bessie L. Knapp, age 88, of Kennewick, went to with the Lord on June 2, 2005 at her home. Bessie was born in Mansfield, WA to Zoro and Ida Easling Wells on January 2, 1917. Bessie grew up and received her early education while helping her parents on their ranch in the Okanogan area. Read More	The Chronicle Kennewick Bessie L. Knapp, age 88, of Kennewick, went to with the Lord on June 2, 2005 at her home. Bessie was born in Mansfield, WA to Zoro and Ida Easling Wells on January 2, 1917. Bessie grew up and received her early education while helping her parents on their ranch in the Okanogan area. It was on her parents ranch in the spring of 1933 that she met and fell in love with William C. Knapp and later that same year they were married. They later owned and operated their own ranch in Okanogan County until William's death in 1972. On this ranch they raised five children, in which she is survived by: Rachel Williams of Kennewick, WA; Norma and George Kapellas of Yakima, WA; Paul and Marilyn Knapp of Okanogan, WA; and David and Carol Knapp of Stehiken, WA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Rose Kelly, of Roosevelt, WA and a sister-in-law, Toots Wells, of Bridgeport, WA. Preceding her in death was her son, Daniel Knapp. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and encouraged them to work hard and to accept the Lord in their lives. She was known by her grandchildren as "Granny the Whip" due to her sharp mind. She loved to cook and read. Bessie belonged to the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Bridgeport and later became a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kennewick, WA. Funeral services were held Monday, June 6, 2005 at City Church in Kennewick, WA at 11 a.m. Viewing was held Sunday, June 5 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mueller's Tri Cities Funeral Home. A second funeral service will be held in the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 328 Riverside Drive, Omak, WA at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 with interment to follow at the Omak Cemetery in Omak, WA. Viewing will be Tuesday, June 7 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel in Okanogan.
