Description	:	Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon, Jan. 11 for Mrs. August F. Block, who passed away at her home near Walnut on the morning of Jan 9. She was past 50 years of age. The services were conducted at the Verdigre Lutheran church with the vacancy pastor, Rev. P.J. Wirth. officiating. Burial was in Enterprise cemetery. The deceased, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Buxton, was born on a farm northeast of Orchard, Oct. 4, 1900. Her youth was spent in and around Orchard. Since her marriage, they lived on farms in the Venus, Walnut neighborhoods. Mrs. Block was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, Dec. 12, 1926 and was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Venus until her death. She is survived by her husband, August; one son, Gordon Block of Walnut; three daughters, Mrs. James Mott Jr. of Verdigre, Mrs. Leo Sukup of Walnut and Lorene at home; three grandchildren; her mother, Cora Buxton of Orchard; two brothers, Edwin of Lake Andes, S.D. and Arthur of Orchard; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Randall and May Chapman of Pender and Mrs. George Harrison of Omaha.
