Brown, 315 Tisdale St., died suddenly at 10:30 PM Wednesday while visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Susie Pitsford, of Higbee, Missouri. She was the daughter of William and Nancy Springer and was born in Little Rock, Arkansas June 20, 1881. She had lived in Ottumwa for the past 27 years. Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Peek, Mrs. Eva Doggett and Mrs. Madge Petri, all of Ottumwa and Mrs. Susie Pitsford, Higbee Missouri, and one son Fred Brown, Ottumwa 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her stepmother Mrs. Clara Springer, Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Beryl List of California and Mrs. Meryle Parker, California and one brother, Lester Springer, Ottumwa also survive, as do five half-sisters; Mrs. Clara Quick, Rock Island Illinois and Mrs. Mary Swanson, Mrs. Selma Pilcher and Mrs. Kate Puth, all of Ottumwa, and one half-brother Harry Springer, Ottumwa she was preceded in death by two daughters, two sons, and three grandsons. The body will be returned to Ottumwa and taken to the Johnson funeral Chapel to await completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie May Brown 315 Tisdale St., who died at Higbee Missouri, Wednesday night, will be held at the Johnson funeral Chapel at 3:30 PM Saturday in charge of the Rev. E. L. Simbro a pastor of the Assembly of God church. Burial will be made in Ottumwa Cemetery. The casket will be taken to the home of Mrs. Brown's daughter, Mrs. Floyd Peek, 520 W. Mechanic St., late this afternoon and it will be returned to the Chapel at 10 AM Saturday. Pallbearers will be Chester Jackson, Clyde Randall, Clarence Elliott, William Scott, Charles Wright and Lester Davis.
