She was born July 13, 1919, in Bulls Gap, Tenn., to Robert Charles and Flora Mae Wright. On June 27, 1935, in Kokomo, she married Harvey N. Anderson. Bessie was employed at Haynes International, retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, where she taught pre-school and Sunday school for 35 years. Anderson, 88, Kokomo, passed away Monday, Feb, 18, 2008, at Manor Care Health Services, Kokomo. She was born July 13, 1919, in Bulls Gap, Tenn., to Robert Charles and Flora Mae Wright. On June 27, 1935, in Kokomo, she married Harvey N. Anderson. Bessie was employed at Haynes International, retiring after 32 years of service. She was a strong supporter of the mission field. She was known to her co-workers at Haynes International as "Granny." In 1960 she was voted Mother of the Year in Kokomo. She embraced her family, friends, church and God. She is survived by sons, Harvey A. Anderson and wife Patricia A., Donald E. Anderson and wife Mary, Lewis R. Anderson and wife Vivian and Floyd E. Anderson, all of Kokomo, and Charles C. Anderson and wife Linda, Hobart; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; 30 nieces and nephews; sisters, Mary Ruth Harrington, Shirley Ann (Wright) Crowe; and brother, Samuel Merle Wright and wife Linda. She was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and a great-granddaughter, Christian Marie Anderson. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor James E. Ball officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kokomo. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
