She passed away on February 13, 1994, at the Asbury Hospital in Salina, Ks., at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 16 days. She was one of two children in the family. The family moved to Courtland, Ks., where Beth attended school, graduating from Courtland High School with the class of 1954. She passed away on February 13, 1994, at the Asbury Hospital in Salina, Ks., at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 16 days. She was one of two children in the family. The family moved to Courtland, Ks., where Beth attended school, graduating from Courtland High School with the class of 1954. She remained in Courtland until she met and married Willis Engle of Geneva on October 12, 1962. Three children were adopted by Willis and Beth. They lived on a farm near Geneva from 1962 until 1986. During this time she worked at the coast to Coast Store in Geneva. They moved to Bennington, Ks., in 1986 and remained there until 1989, when they moved to Salina, Ks. During this time she worked in various food service businesses until being named manager of the Terrace, a deli at the Asbury Hospital in Salina in 1992. Her interests included collecting owls and bells. Her most enjoyable time was spent attending sporting and other activates in which her children and nieces and nephews were involved. She dearly enjoyed her grandchildren and being with family and friends. Her work provided her the opportunity to meet many new people and she enjoyed this immensely. She was preceded in death by her father, Laverne Sjoholm; grandparents, Clarence and Ruth Pugsley, and Albert and Hilma Sjoholm. She is survived by husband, Willis; sons, Timothy Willis and wife Amy and Chris Shannon; daughter, Karyl Ann (Marlyn) Herron; mother, Rosa Sjoholm; brother, John and wife Darla; numerous nieces and nephews and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 17, with the Rev. Wanda Bennett officiating. Musical selections were “How Great Thou Art”, “In the Garden”, and “Have I Told You Lately.” Casket bearers were George Engle Jr., Dan Sorge, David Uldrich, Jack Pugsley, Lee Pugsley and C.C. Brown.
