Description	:	Beth Johnson, 89, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 2015 at her home. She was born January 15, 1926 in Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of William and Florence (Bartlett) Wiseman. She was a 1943 graduate of Osawatomie High School and attended Ottawa University. On June 11, 1950, she married Albert Johnson in Topeka. She worked for the Department of Revenue, then as bookkeeper for her husband’s service station business for many years. Read More	Beth Johnson, 89, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 2015 at her home. She was born January 15, 1926 in Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of William and Florence (Bartlett) Wiseman. She was a 1943 graduate of Osawatomie High School and attended Ottawa University. On June 11, 1950, she married Albert Johnson in Topeka. She worked for the Department of Revenue, then as bookkeeper for her husband’s service station business for many years. She also worked as a secretary for Penn Mutual Life Insurance and Ohio National Insurance, and later as an office assistant for the Kansas Department of Labor, retiring in 1994. Beth loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. She was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church and was actively involved as a Sunday School Teacher, church pianist, Awana leader, member and chair of numerous church committees, and leader of children’s ministries, including Junior Church, children’s choir, and nursery coordinator. She was involved in many church events and enjoyed hosting numerous missionaries over the years. She was also a board member of Evangelical Enterprise and was the financial secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Johnson, September 2004. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, one son, her daughter, her sister, six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral ceremony was 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church, 4011 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, followed by interment at the Rose Hill Cemetery at Newman. The family received friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Memorial contributions were designated to Bethel Baptist Church. ___________________________
