Description	:	Bette Jane Scott, 88, of Yakima, formerly of St. John, WA, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Bette was born January 29, 1927 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Paul and Anna Willmann. Bette worked as a cocktail waitress at the Davenport Hotel where she helped develop and design the Crystal Ballroom. She was Louie Davenport’s favorite dance partner. Read More	Bette Jane Scott, 88, of Yakima, formerly of St. John, WA, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Bette was born January 29, 1927 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Paul and Anna Willmann. Bette worked as a cocktail waitress at the Davenport Hotel where she helped develop and design the Crystal Ballroom. She was Louie Davenport’s favorite dance partner. Bette married Lewis Buckner, they were married for a short time before he was killed in a car accident. In 1955, she married Harold Wayne Scott in Bismarck, ND. They raised their family in St. John, WA. Bette was proud of being the Avon Representative for nine years going door to door selling her products. She cooked several years for the Railroad crew when they stopped in Winona, WA to change shifts. Harold and Bette were involved in the Wheatland Grange. They loved to dance and attended all of the area dances, where they were quite the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers on the dance floor. Bette was also an active member of the Christian Life Assembly Church. Bette especially loved family gatherings being with her children and grandchildren. She attended and enjoyed watching all her kids and grandchildren play the various sports in which they were involved. Bette was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening of all kinds. Bette had a huge heart and was compassionate toward all who needed a place to stay for whatever reason. The many that found her doorstep became part of the family, where she provided for them in every way. She is survived by her children, Gary & Trudy Scott of Spokane, WA, Cindy & Gil White of Lamont, WA, Connie Claussen of Saint John, WA and Callie Scott of Yakima; six grandchildren, Heather Moeva, Chasity White, Nathan White, Brady Claussen, Cody Claussen, Kylie Herridge; seven great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Ryleigh, Catcher, Kaidence, Tanner, Carsyn, and Scarlett; also a sister, Beverly Perman of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lewis Buckner and Harold Wayne Scott; and six brothers and sisters. Viewing will be Saturday, February 6, 2015, 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Christian Life Assembly of God, 302 S. Park Street, Saint John, WA. Graveside service will be at Saint John Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
