Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Decorah, with Pastor Amy Larson officiating. Inurnment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Betty Eileen Stolle was born to Harry and Genevieve (Gunderson) Stolle in West Union, IA, on February 22, 1925. She attended country schools and graduated from West Union High School in May 1943. After graduation she worked at First National Bank in West Union. On June 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to LaVerne A. Rose. To this union two daughters were born, Sharon Kay and Jayne Ann. Betty and LaVerne lived in Fayette when they were first married, moving to Postville in 1952 where they resided until LaVerne retired. In 1988 they moved to Decorah. In 2018 Betty relocated to Davenport, IA, to live with Sharon. Betty was the quintessential homemaker. She loved to bake and was a skilled seamstress. She participated in many volunteer activities, primarily through the church. Since moving to the Quad Cities she delighted in getting to getting to know her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LaVerne on May 7, 2008; her sister Helen Trapp; her brother Harry Stolle; and her son-in-law, Jim Rendack. Betty is survived by her daughters, Sharon Rendack, Jayne Rose (Dan Dickens); her three grandchildren, Joseph Dickens, Michael Dickens, Abigail Dickens; four great-grandchildren; her sister Marilyn Miller (Michael Miller) along with many extended family and friends.
