Betty Elaine Forsberg was born in Williston, North Dakota to Emil and Alice (Ramsfield) Forsberg on October 24, 1935. She was raised and educated in Alamo and graduated from Alamo High School. Read More	Betty Opperud, 80 of Alamo, most recently of Williston, passed away at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Williston on Monday, August 1, 2016. Betty Elaine Forsberg was born in Williston, North Dakota to Emil and Alice (Ramsfield) Forsberg on October 24, 1935. She was raised and educated in Alamo and graduated from Alamo High School. In April of 1956, Betty was united in marriage to Jack Opperud in Alamo. The couple established their home in Alamo where they raised their three children. Jack passed away on June 27, 1973. Betty was a homemaker and was the last cook at the Alamo High School. She really loved this job at the school. After the school closed, she did various jobs around the Alamo community which included City Auditor and helping out at the Alamo Post Office when needed. Betty was a member of the Alamo Homemakers, Calvary Lutheran Ladies Aid, and the Alamo Senior citizens. Betty, a.k.a. the “Bun Lady” loved to cook, play cards, and her Chicago Bulls and she really loved her Alamo! She gave un-conditional love to her mother, caring for her for a number of years, her children and her grandchildren. Surviving Betty are her children, Kathy Jo (Roy) Eskro of Billings, MT, Rodney (Sandy) Opperud of Alamo and Claire Ann (Rick) Herland of Thompson, ND; grandchildren, Justin Herland (Sarah) of Fargo, ND, Jackson Opperud (Amy) of Bismarck, ND, Kylie Herland of Fargo, ND and Derek Opperud of Alamo; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Henry Herland of Fargo, ND; sister, Carol Nelson of Bismarck, ND; and sister-in-law, LaMae Mitchell of Billings, MT. Preceding Betty in death were her parents, Emil and Alice Forsberg; husband, Jack Opperud; infant son, Eugene R.
