Description	:	Betty Frances Miller, 93, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa passed away July 5, 2016 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa. She was born February 21, 1923 in Bloomfield to Vint Dewitt and Floe Mae Francis York. After graduating from Bloomfield High School she worked for Vaughn Motor Co. of Bloomfield as a secretary and bookkeeper. On March 16, 1957 she married Loyd Miller at the Bloomfield Christian Church. Read More	Betty Frances Miller, 93, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa passed away July 5, 2016 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa. She was born February 21, 1923 in Bloomfield to Vint Dewitt and Floe Mae Francis York. After graduating from Bloomfield High School she worked for Vaughn Motor Co. of Bloomfield as a secretary and bookkeeper. On March 16, 1957 she married Loyd Miller at the Bloomfield Christian Church. The couple owned a farm and Betty became a farm wife and homemaker. She was an active member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, helping on the memorial committee, making meals for various gatherings, and as a member and past president of Disciples Women’s Fellowship. In her free time, Betty enjoyed reading, gardening, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. She is survived by her husband, Loyd Miller of Bloomfield; son, Mark L. Miller of Bloomfield; daughter, Mary (Jeff) Snook of Bloomfield; two grandsons, Joseph Hootman of Waterloo, Iowa, Adam (Jessica) Hootman of Bloomfield; two great-grandchildren, Rhett Hootman, Remi Hootman; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wayne and Kenneth York. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Bloomfield Christian Church with Rev. Sara Galindo officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Memorials have been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church and Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties.
