Description	:	Betty Grimes Lyons went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 7, 2008. She was born in Carden Bottoms(Yell County), Arkansas to the Late Lee Roy and Eunice Grimes. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 50 years: Charles Lyons. Betty was a revered English teacher in the Waldron Public School System(Scott County), Arkansas; for over 25 years and had a postive impact on literally hundreds of students durign that time. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 50 years: Charles Lyons. Betty was a revered English teacher in the Waldron Public School System(Scott County), Arkansas; for over 25 years and had a postive impact on literally hundreds of students durign that time. Teaching was her passion, and not just a job! She was a long-time dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas and a member of the Adult three Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lyons was a member of the Bible Study Fellowship as well. She was active in Home Demonstration, Garden Club, and Retired Teachers Association. As a recipient of a kidney transplant late in life, she realized the importance of appreciating every day and using her time to make a difference. Betty is survived by three children: Mike Lyons and family of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Danny Lyons and family of Russellville, Arkansas and Mary Lyons and family of Carrollton, Texas; seven grandchildren: Ellen Harrison, Laura Lyons, Emily Lunney, Hall Lyons, Parker Shoaf, John Dickinson, and Tony Dickinson; 1 great-grand child: Elizabeth Harrison; and two sisters: Frances Crane of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Nancy Bostain of Richmond, Virginia. Services for Betty Lyons was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 1:00p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Waldron. Pallbearers wer: Neil Cherry, Mark Ward, Johnny Ward, Ule Horn, Wayne Bass, and Eddie Harrison. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Three Sunday School Class.
