Description	:	Betty J. Bontrager Slabach Hite, 94, of Goshen, died at 7:35 pm on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Green Croft Healthcare Center, Goshen. She was born on May 27, 1924 in Laporte. On December 21, 1941 in Middlebury she married Joseph Slabach, he passed away April 12, 2003. On August 4, 2006 in New Paris she married Willis "Bill" Hite, he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Cynthia (Clayton) Stauffer of Port Trevorton, PA; a son, Anthony (Marilyn) Slabach of TN; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. ... Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Cynthia (Clayton) Stauffer of Port Trevorton, PA; a son, Anthony (Marilyn) Slabach of TN; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Nellie (Bontrager) Bontrager; her first husband; a grandson, Jeffery Dean Slabach; three sisters, Roberta Lantz, Gracie Black and Thelma Yoder; three brothers, Orvan Bontrager, Henry Black and Johnny Black. Betty was a very active member of several different churches in her lifetime and was a current member of New Paris Nazarene Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker and had worked as a bookkeeper, and had done bus driving. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday December 26, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 27, at New Paris Church of the Nazarene. Services will be conducted by Pastors Allen Dean and Byron Smith. Family and friends will gather at 2:00 PM also on Thursday at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury, for a graveside service.
