Description	:	Betty J. Hand, 85, Kearney, died Friday, November 30, 2018 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., December 5, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton with Pastor Dean Hanson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Pleasanton Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation services is in charge of the arrangements. Betty was born August 18, 1933 south of Litchfield to Elmer and Esther (Samuelson) Rolfsmeyer. She graduated from Litchfield High School and earned her teaching certificate from Nebraska Teachers College in Kearney. Betty taught at Scott Center School for two years. Betty married Rex Hand on May 21, 1953 in Kearney. They lived in Pleasanton then moved south of Kearney where they owned and operated Hand Well Company for 55 years. Betty stayed busy as a wife, mother and bookkeeper for the family business. She was a member and secretary of the Good Samaritan Buffalo County Hospital Board for many years. Some of her interests were golfing, garage sales, Junk Jaunt, flowers, hunting, cooking, collecting butter molds and churns, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many activities. Betty is survived by her husband Rex Hand of Kearney; daughters, Connie Reiss and husband Lymon of Kearney, Darla Skeen and husband Leland of Gibbon, Gisel Theis and Dave Krueger of Kearney; son, Dave Hand and wife Terry of Kearney; sister, Joanne Rolfsmeyer of Kearney; sister in law Rita Rolfsmeyer of Ravenna; grandchildren, Shayla Warnken, Mike Skeen and wife Lori, Steph Sydow and husband John, Jacob Morton, Adrian Morton, Kasey Powers and husband Chris, Jerrel Theis, Chris Reiss and wife Carli, Eric Reiss and wife Jocelyn; great grandchildren, Preston, Haidyn, and Korbin Skeen, Harper Sydow, Wesley and Walter Powers, Ellah, Hartli, and Bexli Reiss, Amaroq and Hauke Reiss. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Donald and Allen Rolfsmeyer; and son in law Monty Warnken.
