Description	:	Betty Jane (McAfee) Smith, age 48, of Rose Bud, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, December 28, 2005 at U.A.M.S. , after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. A non-denominational Christian, Betty attended and supported all the churches in her community. Her spirituality was an inspiration to all who came in contact with her. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Smith, a son, Chris Smith and his wife Nesha, and daughters, Melanie Jenkins, and Danielle Smith and her husband, Bo; grandchildren, Alex, Lariette, Brander and Jalyn, all of Rose Bud; brothers, Michael McAfee, Bonner Springs, KS, Richard (Peggy) McAfee, Troy, IL, Tim (Sharon) McAfee, Rose Bud, AR Jeff (Sarah) McAfee, Wellsville, KS, Todd (Lori) McAfee, Rose Bud, AR; sisters, Becky (Dick) Eggleston, Hamilton, MT, Marilyn (Roger) Bomar, Rose Bud, AR, Shirley (Don) Lawrence, Basehor, KS. Betty was preceded in death by her parents William T. ‘Bo' and Velda McAfee, brother, Dan McAfee and nephews Alex and Brandon. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rhonda (Paul) Sample, and brother-in-law, Marty (Bridgett) Smith. She will be greatly missed by her twenty-seven nieces and nephews, and forty-three great nieces and nephews, five great great nieces and nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to express a special thank you to Betty's best friend, Rachael White, Searcy, AR, and her Uncle Bobby and Aunt Laura, Jacksonville, AR. They also wish to extend a thank you to all the doctors and nurses who helped care for Betty during the course of her illness, especially Dr. Alicia Johnson, Dr. Laura Hutchins, and nurses, Libby, Cathy, and Tammy. Family requests memorials be made to Arkansas Cancer Research Center (ACRC) Foundation Fund, accounts #30-05129, 4301 West Markham, #623F, Little Rock, AR, 72205-9985, in Memory of Betty Smith. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Bud Assembly of God Church with interment following at Rose Bud Cemetery.
