Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Gerald Gjerde officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Bellevue. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. She was born on May 15, 1933, in Bellevue, daughter of William and Laura (Keil) Bowman. She attended school in Bellevue. She married LaVerle "Bub" Ehrler in 1954. She later married Tom Baxter in May 1967, in Savanna, Ill. She was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. Betty enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and tending to her plants. Surviving are three daughters, Sue (Mark) Hansen and Tomi (Mike) Trentz, both of Maquoketa, and Tina (Tom) Stillmunkes, of Dubuque; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold (Sandra) Bowman, of Bellevue, and Art Bowman, of Preston. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mike Ehrler, on April 28, 2001; a daughter, Laura Puckett, on July 31, 2001; four sisters; and two brothers.
