Description	:	Betty Jean Johnson (Mrs. Gale "Swede"), 97, of Fairfield, Iowa and formerly of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on January 16, 2020 at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield. She was born October 28, 1922 in Milton, Iowa the daughter of Ira and Cecil (McBratney) Deal. She was married to Gale "Swede" Johnson in Lancaster, Missouri on November 11, 1941. They were married 62 years, he preceded her in death in 2003. Betty worked as a cashier at Keith's Grocery in Bloomfield for over 30 years. Betty is survived by one daughter, Donna Jean (Don) Henderson of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Lori Jean (Jeff) Anderson of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Eric (Michelle) Henderson of Fairfield; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brittany Jean Anderson and Averi and Ella Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Virginia Daniels, Shirley Hamersley, Charlene Hartman; and two brothers, Fred Deal and Dr. Ira "Max" Deal. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Betty's nephew, Rev. Bill Hornback, officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jefferson County Health Center Nursing Staff.
