Description	:	Mrs. Betty Jean Gammons Marshall Age 73 of 1401 McBride Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday June 9, 2011 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Marshall was born April 7, 1938 in Surry County to the late Abe and Lelia Goins Gammons, she was retired after 40 years of service from Spencer's Inc. was CNA for years and was a member of Flippen Memorial Baptist Church. Read More	Mrs. Betty Jean Gammons Marshall Age 73 of 1401 McBride Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday June 9, 2011 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Marshall was born April 7, 1938 in Surry County to the late Abe and Lelia Goins Gammons, she was retired after 40 years of service from Spencer's Inc. was CNA for years and was a member of Flippen Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband Roger Dale Marshall of the home, four daughters and son-in-law Regina and Eddie Mundy of Mt. Airy, Lawana Grimsley, of Kathleen, GA., Dawn and John Walker and Anita and Jeff Smith, all of Mt. Airy, two sons and daughter-in-law Steve and Tina Marshall and Eric Marshall and fiancé Angie Kuhlman all of Mt. Airy, her special dog "Butch", eight grandchildren Jessica Gish, Candice Grimsley, Paula Walker, John Michael Walker, Jordan Smith, Steven Marshall, Sheldon Marshall and Austin Mundy, two great grandchildren Ty Gish and Landon Gish, one brother-in-law Lorain Lambert, a special niece Christine Lambert, special friends Shelby Wood, Polly France, Codi and Montanna Kuhlman. In addition to her parents Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by a sister Georgia Lambert. Funeral services will be held Sunday June 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Flippen Memorial Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Tim Burton with burial to follow in the Korners Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night 6 to 8 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Flippen Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, C/O Fannie Burkhart 2337 McBride Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030 and to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200 Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. The family will be meeting at the home of the son Steve Marshall 145 Beasley Rd.
