She passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona. Betty grew up and attended school in Linden, Iowa. On July 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Kenneth "Buck" Borst at the Shilow Church on the Dawson Road. Betty and Buck farmed 41 years north of Redfield and moved into Redfield in 2002. On July 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Kenneth "Buck" Borst at the Shilow Church on the Dawson Road. Betty and Buck farmed 41 years north of Redfield and moved into Redfield in 2002. Betty worked at Diddy's Grocery Store in Redfield and the Dexter Hospital for many years. She and Buck spent the winters in Arizona and the summers in Minnesota for the last 30 years. Betty was an avid fan of the Phoenix Suns basketball team. She is survived by her husband, Buck Borst of Redfield; daughters, Vicky Borst and Connie Kostura; brother, Ernest "Lonnie" Hoy; sisters, Phyllis Hoy and Sally Lamb; and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard Borst, brother Lloyd Hoy, and sister Viola Roy. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be in the West Linn Cemetery, rural Linden. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5-7 PM with family present at the funeral home.
