She entered eternal rest at Carpenter House in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 28, 2020. Betty, or Nanny as she was called by close family for over 50 years, was a lifelong resident and homemaker in LaCamp, Louisiana. She attended Simpson High School where she met her husband of 55 years, Gaston Ingalls. Gaston preceded her in death along with her parents, Everett and Laurel Monk; her brother, Olen Monk, and her sister, Velvie Squyres. She leaves behind three children, seven grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. Betty was an avid decorator and horticulturalist, always busy with changing tastes in her home and providing unmatched care and attention to her beautiful flower garden. No visit to Nanny’s house was complete without a sweet treat to see you on your way, as she took great joy in sharing her love of good food and chocolate. Her family knows that she is home safely in God’s kingdom where she is undoubtedly sharing her infectious laugh with the many loved ones she is now with, reunited. A private family visitation will be held Tuesday evening, June 30th, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home In Leesville, Louisiana. A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in LaCamp, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 1st, at 11 AM.
