She was born July 21, 1923, in Wenatchee, the daughter of Lynn and Imogene (Lord) Carlson. The Lord family was a pioneer family of the Lake Chelan area. BJ was raised in Seattle and graduated from Queen Anne High School. Shortly after high school, she met Arnold Rouse Jr. and they were married Sept. 7, 1943, in Portland, OR. Arnold was in the Navy Air, so for the next 20 years they moved to many different locations. In 1963, Arnold retired and they moved to Mazama for 10 years and then to Manson for 20 years. Arnold passed away in 1993, after 50 years of marriage. BJ moved to Colville in 1999. BJ belonged to many groups and organizations during her life including, Navy Relief, garden clubs and was a Red Cross Blood Volunteer for over 10 years. She was an accomplished artist. BJ was a Unity Truth Student and was baptized in 1953, by her mother, an ordained Unity Minister. BJ was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother, with a warm, big smile and will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Harris and husband, Warren of Colville; two sons, Arnold Clayton Rouse IV and wife, Peg of Tucson, AZ and Michael Ronnie Rouse and wife, Julie of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Rouse, Sarah Rouse, Tricia Rouse, Todd Rouse, Trina Rouse, Michelle Willis, Eric Hough, Jessica Suiter, Lindsay Suiter and her son, Cascade; one great-grandson, Cascade Cooper. BJ was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Clayton Rouse, Jr. in 1993. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at the Danekas Funeral Chapel, Colville. Cremation will follow the service. The Ash Committal will be at 2 p.m. on March 2, 2001, at the Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Local arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
