Description	:	Betty Jeanne Baker Van Hook, 60, of Oliver Springs went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2011. She was born to Harry and Ova Lea Baker of Clinton, Tennessee on May 9th 1951. Mrs. Van Hook's love for children and her desire to serve allowed her to influence many students in our community. She was founder and director of the Mother's Day Out program of First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs. She also taught Math at Oliver Springs Elementary School for several years. She was currently the director of Morgan County Community Action Services Head Start.... Read More	Betty Jeanne Baker Van Hook, 60, of Oliver Springs went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2011. She was born to Harry and Ova Lea Baker of Clinton, Tennessee on May 9th 1951. Mrs. Van Hook's love for children and her desire to serve allowed her to influence many students in our community. She was founder and director of the Mother's Day Out program of First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs. She also taught Math at Oliver Springs Elementary School for several years. She was currently the director of Morgan County Community Action Services Head Start. She enjoyed shopping, attending Lady Vol basketball games, and spending time with her family and friends.She was a member at First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs where she sang in the church choir for many years. She enjoyed singing praises to her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Van Hook is survived by her husband S.J. (Stoney) Van Hook III. They were happily married for 40 years. She is also survived by their two children; S.J (Jay) Van Hook IV of Alcoa and Jennifer Lynne Van Hook Briggs and husband, Tony, of Cookeville, by two granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth and Shelby Lynne Briggs of Cookeville, by a brother, Larry Baker and wife, Mitzi, of Clinton; by a brother-in-law and his wife, Joe and Teresa Van Hook of Oliver Springs and by her nieces and nephews who include Ashley Van Hook Sutton and husband, Ryan, Joseph P. Van Hook, of Oliver Springs and Tyson and Kayla Baker of Clinton. The family would like to thank the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute for their loving care of Mrs. Van Hook during her recent battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Mrs. Van Hook's memory to the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute, Medical Building D, Suite 370, 1934 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Dr. Charles Parker officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
