Description	:	Betty Jo Switzer, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, in her home surrounded by family. She was born June 17, 1939, in Terre Haute, to Arthur James Strain and Stella Jane Johnson Strain. Survivors include her husband, Jack Switzer, whom she married Dec. 21, 1960, in Terre Haute; their six children, Jack Eugene Switzer and his wife Karen Sue Switzer, Terry Dwayne Switzer and his wife Irene Freda Switzer, Torie Lee Switzer and his wife Pam Switzer, Betty Joan McAdams and her husband James Thomas McAdams, Gary Allen Switzer and his wife Rose Marie... She was born June 17, 1939, in Terre Haute, to Arthur James Strain and Stella Jane Johnson Strain. Survivors include her husband, Jack Switzer, whom she married Dec. 21, 1960, in Terre Haute; their six children, Jack Eugene Switzer and his wife Karen Sue Switzer, Terry Dwayne Switzer and his wife Irene Freda Switzer, Torie Lee Switzer and his wife Pam Switzer, Betty Joan McAdams and her husband James Thomas McAdams, Gary Allen Switzer and his wife Rose Marie Switzer, and James Arthur "Jamie" Switzer and his wife Amy Switzer; six siblings, Rosemary Greenwell, Donna Johnson, Ruby Rossicoe, Jerry Strain, Bill Strain, and Vickie Bohnam; 24 grandchildren including her best friend/granddaughter, Jacquelyn Nichole (McAdams) Lynn; 25 great-grandchildren; numerous foster grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tina Halstead; special friends, Ed and Connie Jukes and Mary Jukes; and her dog, Boots. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorie Ree Switzer; her parents; and two brothers, Gene Strain and James Strain. Betty loved attending church, spending time with her family, watching the Pacers, and playing the piano. Funeral services for Betty will be 12 noon Monday in New Life Fellowship, 7849 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time in the church. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
