She was the daughter of Raymond Pearl and Irene Helen (Davenport) Elliott and born on October 21, 1938, in Ringgold County, Iowa. Betty grew up in Ringgold and Decatur Counties graduating from Lamoni High School in 1957. She then attended Indian Hills Community College for data processing. Read More	Betty Joyce Shader, age 80, of Lamoni, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Lamoni Specialty Care Center. She was the daughter of Raymond Pearl and Irene Helen (Davenport) Elliott and born on October 21, 1938, in Ringgold County, Iowa. Betty grew up in Ringgold and Decatur Counties graduating from Lamoni High School in 1957. She then attended Indian Hills Community College for data processing. She was married on March 23, 1957, to Francis Lee Sly. They lived in various places in Iowa and were blessed with four children, Randy, Renae, Kay, and Dennis. They divorced in 1964. Betty and the children moved back to Lamoni before moving to Iowa Falls, Iowa where she worked as a key punch operator. It was there she met Paul James Shader. They were married on August 6, 1970. His family included his nine children. They moved to Dows City, Iowa to be near his job in Denison. After Paul died, Betty moved back to Lamoni with the past seven years spent in Lamoni Specialty Care. Betty enjoyed gardening, her flowerbeds, and cats, especially her cat, Fancy. She attended the Lamoni United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Paul. Survivors include her four children, Randy & Debi Sly of Grimes, Iowa, Renae & Craig Boswell of Mustang, Oklahoma, Kay & Steve Dullard of Des Moines, Iowa, and Denny Sly of Fairfax, Iowa; grandchildren, Matthew & Ashley, Michael & Meredith, Kristen, Karrie & Chad, Justin, Jessica & Andrew, Brian, and Nikki & Alex; nine great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Brown of Vista, California; one niece and two nephews; and other relatives and friends.
