Betty Joyce Hutchinson was born on January 21, 1930 in Hardin County, Iowa to Frank and Ida (Johnson) Hutchinson. She graduated from Alden High School. On September 12, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Marion Charles Jass. They were married for 25 years before they separated. She was involved with the Alden Friends of the Library. Read More	Betty Jass, 85, of Alden, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames. Betty Joyce Hutchinson was born on January 21, 1930 in Hardin County, Iowa to Frank and Ida (Johnson) Hutchinson. She graduated from Alden High School. On September 12, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Marion Charles Jass. They were married for 25 years before they separated. She was involved with the Alden Friends of the Library. Betty worked several jobs in the area including babysitting, house cleaner, janitor for the Alden Schools and worked in restaurants. For the last 15-20 years, Betty enjoyed traveling with her daughter and she also traveled alone taking bus trips all over including New York City, Branson and Washington D.C. She also took her first airplane flight to Delaware to visit her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Terry, her daughter Jolene and three sisters Wanda Folks, Bonnie Neulan and Imogene Akers. Funeral services will be Saturday November 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Memorial U.C.C. in Alden with burial in the Alden Cemetery. Obituary & photo published by Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls
