She was born and raised in Deuel County and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1945. Betty was united in marriage to Loren Schiefelbein on December 14, 1946 in Clear Lake, South Dakota. They were blessed with three children. Loren passed away February 15, 1999. Betty remained in Clear Lake for a year before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska to be closer to her youngest daughter. Four years ago she came to live with her eldest daughter in... Read More	Betty Joyce Schiefelbein was born on November 5, 1927 in Clear Lake, South Dakota to John and Clara (Eakins) Thoelke. She was born and raised in Deuel County and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1945. Betty was united in marriage to Loren Schiefelbein on December 14, 1946 in Clear Lake, South Dakota. They were blessed with three children. Loren passed away February 15, 1999. Betty remained in Clear Lake for a year before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska to be closer to her youngest daughter. Four years ago she came to live with her eldest daughter in Duluth, Georgia. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake and became a member of their quilting club where they produced many quilts and blankets for those less fortunate. She was an avid reader and loved to play the piano and sing. She always enjoyed eating out and shopping. Betty is survived by her children: Jan Schiefelbein, Duluth, GA; David Schiefelbein, Yankton, SD and Stacie (Schiefelbein) Swinehart, Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren: Lisa Roseland Muzi; Shawn Roseland, Elena Swinehart and Eloisa Swinehart; six great-grandchildren: Madeline Muzi, Morgan Muzi, Kiernan Roseland, Kaitlin Roseland, Chase Roseland and Kaleigh Roseland; two sisters: Dorothy Koenecke, Clear Lake, SD and Barbara (Thoelke) Mullarkey, Alexandria, VA; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren Schiefelbein; parents, John and Clara Thoelke; and brother, John Thoelke. - Houseman Funeral Home
