Description	:	Betty June Morris, 72, of Central City, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital in Central City after a very hard fought bout with cancer. Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dannebrog, Nebr. with Pastor Barry Arndt, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Dannebrog. Mrs. Morris was born June 23, 1930 in North Platte, Nebraska to Josephine Jennie (Johnson) Hunsley. She received her education in North Platte until the age of 9 and then moved to California to live and go to school with an aunt until she was 16 years old. She then moved back to North Platte to live with her Grandmother. On June 12th 1948, she was united in marriage to Harold Morris in North Platte. The couple lived in North Platte, Nebraska, Pueblo, Colorado, St. Joseph, Missouri, Falls City, Oregon, and Grand Island, Nebraska before moving to Dannebrog, Nebraska in 1974. She worked various jobs and helped her husband with city maintenance until his health failed. She took care of him until his death in April of 1986. She lived at the Oak Street Manor until September of 2000 when she moved to Grandview Apartments in Grand Island. Due to poor health in February of 2002, she moved to Central City to live with her daughter and her family. Survivors include: three sons, Jack (and Marilyn) of Kearney, Nebraska, (TJ.)Harold Jr. (and Becky) of Portland, Oregon and Leslie of Hastings, Nebraska. One daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Michael Holmberg of Central City, Nebraska, and a daughter-in-law, Gilda Morris of Elba, Nebraska. One uncle and aunt, Clarence and Rita Johnson of North Platte, 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her mother Josephine and stepfather Ralph Hunsley, grandparents Herman and Minnie Johnson, one son Robert and a granddaughter, Brandy Morris.
